The Head Cook stared at the empty tray, perplexed. “Martha, what happened to all those toffees we made this morning?”

 

The unfortunate Martha shrugged, staring helplessly at her superior. “I don’t know, ma’am. They were there a minute ago.”

 

Outside the kitchen window, two young monarchs fought desperately not to laugh. “This is ridiculous!” hissed Caspian, reaching for another toffee. “I haven’t raided the kitchen since I was a little boy!”

 

Peter chuckled, leaning forward to share another sweet, sticky kiss. “I know.” His lips trailed down along his lover’s jaw, leaving sugary residue in their wake. “Isn’t it fun?”

Yay! I'm actually making myself slightly sick at the moment...a couple of years ago, people were calling me the queen of angst, now suddenly I've turned into this mushy, cheerful writer. Isn't it alarming? :P
